Sean and Kelly took an amazing trip of a lifetime to Ireland. They spent ten days traveling to Shannon, Dublin, Kilkenny, Killarney, Waterford, Wicklow Mountains, Limerick, Galway, and the Aran Islands. On the 8th day of their trip, they took a ferry out to Inishmor, one of the Aran Islands. They stayed at a quaint little thatch-roof cottage. After going out to dinner that night, they decided it would be nice to visit a fort on a cliff, Dun Aengus, at night rather than the next morning. Dún Aonghasa (Dun Aengus) is the most famous of several prehistoric forts on the Aran islands. It is located on Inishmore at the edge of an approximately 100 meter high cliff. It is thought to have been built in the 2nd Century, BC. It was about 10pm, and the sun was still up. Once they walked the 20 minutes up to the top of the fort, they realized how lucky they were – there was not one other person there.
Sean & Kelly stayed up on the fort through sunset, enjoying the night. Kelly was jokingly asking Sean how much he loved her, if he loved her more than Paul McCartney, etc….when….he got down on one knee and popped the question!! She was so shocked all she kept saying was “really?! really?! REALLY?!,” so Sean was kind enough to remind her to say YES!
PS~ yes, he asked her dad first 🙂
